CARE GUIDE & REPAIR SERVICE
how to clean your MBT shoes & properly care for mbt shoes

  • 1. Avoid exposure to any aggressive liquids containing salt, oil, manure, dissolvent, petrol, acids...  These substances will attack the shoe materials and is not considered a manufacturing fault.
  • 2. MBTs can be worn in the rain but dry out thoroughly upside down before further use - Never leave MBTs damp or wet as this will have an adverse affect on the shoe and is not a manufacturing fault..  Do not place on radiators or in ovens.
  • 3. Avoid mechanical damage by protecting the heel sensor from sharp objects.
  • 4. Never put in the washing machine. Hand wash your MBTs using diluted clear liquid soap and a sponge.  Dry thoroughly upside down in a warm environment as above.
  • 5. If you get them dirty or muddy, clean and dry them immediately after use.
  • 6. If you detect any separation or excessive wearing of the sole in time, the rubber sole is easy to replace by MBT UK (address below). Make sure you avoid damage to the Mid-sole by replacing the rubber sole before it is worn off.
  • If the upper is in good condition and you have not worn the sole through, you can have your MBTs repaired.

Walking as nature intended.

The ‘Heel Sensor’ is perhaps the most complex and delicate part of the MBT shoe.  Please follow the care guide and avoid prolonged exposure to damp or aggressive liquids.

MBT shoes may not be suitable for those whose lifestyle would involve prolonged or constant use of their MBTs in damp or wet environments.

For UK customers, within the six month warranty period, return with your MBTs to your supplier to assess whether they appear to be a valid warranty claim.  Outside of the warranty period MBT UK offer a repair service which includes replacing the heel sensor if the uppers are still in good condition.

If you send MBT for repair or replacement, it is necessary to enclose the following information:

  • The supplier name whom the MBT was purchased from.
  • Date of purchase, providing a receipt.
  • Explanation of the fault.
  • Full customer contact details, including telephone number.
  • The address provided must be the delivery address where the customer will be present to sign for the package.

Please note that MBT shoes purchased through mail order or the internet cannot be guaranteed by MBT UK.
