Continual Professional Development is commonly referred to as CPD. It is used to illustrate, or measure, how a qualified person is continuing to update and improve their professional skills.

Definition of CPD
The Health Professions Council define CPD as :
“Put simply, CPD is the way health professionals continue to learn and develop throughout their careers so they keep their skills and knowledge up to date and are able to work safely, legally and effectively.”

At Back To Work :
For therapists we offer CPD training in Acupuncture, Back Care and Back Pain Management related subjects, with advice on the integration of essential oils for aromatherapists. With some organizations appearing to lose their way on CPD, we had an article published in the IFPA ‘In Essence’ Journal, on the realistic approach to CPD. A useful Guide of what should be acceptable is provided by The Health Professions Council in their Short Guide to CPD.
