These swabs, saturated with 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol BP, are Ideal for ensuring a clean/ sterile technique during needle site palpation in acupuncture. Although the patient may tolerate their own bacteria, the therapist's bacteria, placed on the needle site during direct finger palpation, may be pushed in during needling & cause an avoidable infection. Palpation of the acupoint through a swab acts as a barrier to prevent the therapists bacteria being transferred to the needling site.
